It hangs at doing handshake... and then it says lost conection... disconnecting..

I had the same problem at first but it was because I had not set up my wifi connection through a game that uses the wifi.  I set it up in the game metroid prime hunters and it saved the settings to my firmware.  Now it connects no problem.  Just a suggestion, hope it helps.
