I bought a 150x 1gb sd hoping for the highest possible performance.  So I tried the castlevania intro screen and it lags like crazy. Is there any other possible reason for this lag or is it maybe that the card im using isnt really 150x speed. The card is this one, http://www.winsunx.com/list.php?mod=657.

I haven't heard of the Eagletec brand before, so I can't attest to its speed.

As for the lag, you're just going to have to live with it. It's more of a problem with the SuperCard than the SD card itself.

With the new SuperCard Lite, the Castlevania intro works fine no matter if you have a regular microSD or a highspeed one.  Perhaps you could try formatting it with FAT16 using a different sized cluster and see if that helps.

I made a video on how the intro should look: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lkdLovXLgE

The 150x or 80x or even 60x means jack shit when running a 10-15mb video file. If the video file only requests a few bytes to be loaded into main DS mem at a time then access speed is where it's at.

Think about it, any mem card can pre-load the whole video file in about 2 secs, will play it fine unless the vid is called and exeuted in micro bursts. Then access speed is important.

I'm guessing you eagletec mem card has an access speed of @ 1.6 m/s+, which is not enough for a smooth castlevania vid.

Common sense will tell anyone that the castlevania vid which runs for about 10 -15 seconds and is only 10-15MB big, does not require fast write or even read  speed bursts. 1MB/s read would do. But if access speed is off on each game engine cycle, the vid will begin to lag.

Fast mem access is the key.
