Running PocketNES 9.99 on SCLite

First, I KNOW NESDS is better than PocketNES ... at least it was when I was on SCminiSD. Since I changed to SCLite though, no saving, so I need to run PocketNES so I can enjoy save support.

But, I want to run the latest PocketNES 9.99, not the antiquated p-nes that's included on the SC.

In this thread at gbatemp, user TheRock says you can put together your PocketNES rom, then run the SC patcher on it, and it'll save using the usual Supercard GBA manual keystrokes, either SRAM or instant save.

Is this true, and does he mean the main SC client patcher, or the magic homebrew patcher?

edit: I'm at work and can't give this a try for at least several hours, so I thought I'd see if anyone knew.

Hi

with which one, the regular client patcher, or the magic homebrew patcher? (i'm assuming at this point it must be using the client patcher)
