Is it possible to convert vids to DPG using linux?

It seems to me that DPGenc uses mencoder to convert, and since mencoder exists on linux, maybe I can use that to convert to DPG. The only problem is figuring out the command line options to create a DPG.

I can't see why you can't use mencoder on Linux.  you have to figure out the resolution, bitrate, and framerate and you're set.  Im sure you can use ffmpeg as well.

I've already tried creating a mpeg using mencoder with the command line used by dpgenc, renaming it to dpg, but MoonShell wouldn't read it. It seems the files have a unique header created by dpgenc.

cedega and wine gave no results too, so I use my Windows Media Center server to convert videos (yay VNC).
