dead pixel on a CRT!!!?!??

hey guys i just noticed a dead pixel on my crt, its not dust, am i crazy??? i will post pics later

Yes. You are crazy :D. CRT's don't develop dead pixels. Posible causes are :

- dust
- glass on the cinescope is shattered or otherwise damaged
- exposure to magnetic fields (if so, damage may be permanent)

One possibility that can occur is the phospher on the inside tube can fake off, this is very rare, but i did have a TV once that this happened to, there was no light being generated at that spot, so in effect it was dark and looked like a missing pixel. This could have occured......

yeah.. that's all i can think of too.  because the CRT can't possibly miss firing at just one spot.  It fires a continuous stream.  only thing i can think of is the phosphor missing on the inside of the screen...
