hi guys, I finally was able to test my ds wifi connection for the first time. I took my ds to college, the nds detected 2 open conection and connected just fine when i did a connection test.   I tried to run mario kart and tetris just to try it on, but everytime i tried to connect it said disconnected from the wfc.  error code 61020.

Just for information i run my games from sc lite, latest firmware and latest patcher. i really have no idea why this would happen though my wfc setting seems fine.  helps or comments would be appreciated thanks

i've started to think that the wifi is troublesome - well at least for me- the day before, i tried to connect to my friend's wireless router, can't even connect at all when i did the connection test at the wfc ap test.  maybe all this problems were just caused by the uncompatibility of the router.  maybe it's just a sign that i need to get the nintendo wifi usb adapter :?

nope, that error code is a firewall confliction,so,it had nothing to do with you.
the college obviously dont have udp open, and tcp ports 28910, 29900, 29901 and 29920.
those are the ones that nintendo advise are open.
as for your friends connection,id say his ssid was hidden or he has some protection on the router, either way the ds wont see it.

thanks rotten fox, I asked my friend and he actually told me the same thing, it might be protection for the firewall.  I was worried for a while there that something's wrong with my ds    do you think it's a good idea to get the usb wifi adapter? :?:

nah...just manually set up the DS and router for it.
no need to waste money

my usb adapter broke within less than 6 months.. i would just find a compatible access point..  I am using a cheap d-link wireless access point.  cost me 30+ at best buy, and it is 100% compatible for my DS and PSP... and it's got 4 cat-5 ports too, which is nice (5 including the WAN port to my cable modem)

My router is down on the Nintendo site as not compatable with Nintendo WiFi. If I open the above ports will it helpI have a Belkin #F5D7230au4. I was thinking of getting a Nintendo USB wi fi adaptor however saving money would be great. I was very annoyed to find my router wasn't compatible.
