Super Mario Bros. 2 (J) nes wont work on my supercard lite am i doing any thing wrong?

isn't that a famicom game? if it isn't actually a NES ROM then that'd explain why it isn't working... but i really don't know what i'm talking about.

i read about a NES hack of SMB1 that's a clone of Super Mario Bros 2 (J)... it has an odd name but that'd work for sure in the orginal's stead. i hear its a difficult to tell the two games apart.

I downloaded 3 versions of the Super Mario Bros. J NES and they all crashed on the supercard (and my emulator). So I tried 2 hack versions of the orginal game and I couldn't even find a hack version that'd work on the supercard minisd.

Sorry I couldn't help but let me know if you find a version that works.

If you want to play Super Mario Bros. 2 (J), i.e. the real SMB2, you've got two options:

1) find the MiniFamicom version (Japanese version of NES CLassics series) for GBA, or ....

2) find the "pirated" NES rom. SMB2(J) was only released on the Famicom as a disk for the Famicom Disk System, and never came in a cartridge format. Anyway, the file you need is "Super Mario Bros. 2 (J) [p1].nes" - any full NES romset should have it included.

As is, the [p1] rom will still not play, but it can be patched with an ips patching program like GBATA or whatever, using an ips patch that rewrites the mapper from 40 to 4. The patch can be found here. ANyway, once patched, the [p1] rom will run in pocketNES or DSNES just fine.[/url]
