So has anybody bought Mario Kart yet?

Hi!

I can't wait for this to come out here in the UK, I've had my copy on pre-order for about 2 months already :-/ the wait is a little fustrating, but will be worth it!

I was just wondering if anyone over in the west has already bought the game, and tried it on a FlashMe'd DS? I was a little worried that flashme may overwrite the MAC address on the DS thus rendering it incapable of online play... Has anyone played it online yet?

hi fellow UKer here. My import copy shipped today woo! In answer to your flashme question no it doesn't overwrite your DS's mac addr. I've also heard it plays fine on flashme V5 DS's without problem.

I've got FlashMe V5 on my DS right now, I've heard around that its working fine, but I'm surprised that nobody has really mentioned online very much, so I'm a little anxious about that.

I have the Mario Kart DS (USA) it works great with the new flashmev5. G6 can boot the 0168 Mario Kart and save with the mario kart ds card in slot only, but no other 2mbit card will be run it.

I've got MKDS and v5 FlashMe and I can play online with no problems. I compared my MAC address to that of a friend who also flashed his DS and they are different numbers.

Yes we know that the regular flashme doesn't overwrite the mac address, what scares me is for people that used noflashme... as that was a complete dump of the firmware, meaning it overwrites everything.

I'm pretty sure that isn't the case. I've applied noflashme to my nds before and I still have my original pre v1 mac addr. ( I was a flashme beta tester ). Even darkfaders ppflash thing has code to generate a random MAC addr from Nintys range, so even at worse you'd have a random MAC rather than the same as X number of people

I didn't buy it, but I've played the download multiplayer.

I liked it, and my DS still works. (Yay FlashMe v5!)

I bought it today, just got my ass kicked on line by some guy with a japanese name...

this game rocks!

As for the question, I have FlashMev5 installed and my DS is still working with my SuperCard and I was able to go online and use MKDS as the original cart.

In other words, everything is well and dandy!
