Appreantly coders at DSlinux was able to use the SuperCard RAM for its OS. It only uses 16Mbytes of the SC RAM but it's a great start. Let's hope they can get the DS browser to do the same thing.

The creator of the Mini vMac DS was also working on using the RAM on the SuperCard so I hope this works out!

QuoteAs a side note, I have been looking into using the Supercard’s extra ram as a possible method of 4mb emulation.

sounds über man :>

what about other flash devices? m3 hm?

It will never work for the M3. The supercard has 32mbytes of memory. 16MB is used to access the CF/SD card. The other 16MB is used for GBA roms. This is the 16MB they have managed to access.

The M3 also has 32MB of memory, but it is all used to access the CF/SD card.

Not sure if that's 100%, but it's close enough. Check on the DSLinux boards.

Woah had a read through all this, wow is all I can say - I wonder why they setup the Supercard like this for the DS - really looks like some foward planning, but I can't understand the need for 16MB of GBA ??? weird but I can't wait to see what the developers will do with this.

hmm...
It should be possible to use all of the 32mb ram on the supercard in NDS mode, because when I check the "position: supercard box" in the patching software a 32Megabyte NDS game completely fits into the supercard´s internal memory!..
ah Wah!!!

but the coders only be able to use the section of the RAM that designed for GBA roms which is only 16MB. i think they'll get more usable RAM out of SC lite since it has 64MB of total RAM.

dondipietro

Are you sure that de SC Lite has 64MB of ram ???
I've read a lot of forums and didnt see how much ram It has.
I thought that It has 32MB like others supercards.
So we can copy for example castelvania DS completely in this ram and not read it from the micro sd ?

Awesome news, I can only imagine all the stuff this could be used for...but the DS browser would definitely be very welcome, and might very likely end the SuperCard vs M3 comparisons. At least for a little while lol

It only has 32MB like the other SuperCard's.
