Hello, I recently created my own thumb stylus!
I use it, and it is very, VERY effective!

You will need-

-A regular nds stylus
-Hot glue gun
-Paper
-A small rubber band (when laid down flat, it extends about 1 and a half inch)
-Thumb!

Okay! I will provide a written guide,
and a very poorly drawn (but effeciant) picture guide

Written guide
[/u]
1. Gather all materials
2. Cut half an inch of the stylus off the top
3. Plug in the hot glue gun and let it warm up
4. Poor a filled circle of hot glue on the paper
5. DON'T let it dry before doing the next step
6. Place the rubber band on the hot glue circle so the ends stick out
(illustrated in the drawn guide)
7. DON'T let it dry yet, either!
8. Place the end of the stylus in the middle of the hot glue circle
with the stylus part sticking up
9. NOW let things dry
10. Peel off the hotglue circle off of the paper
11. You are done!

nice.. :)  i especially liked the warning at the bottom of the picure guide "don't make fun of drawing"  :)

Looks nice, though i never used the thumbstrap...

There are a few games that are way more enjoyable with a thumb stylus

These are what comes to mind
-Deep Labyrinth (definately needs one)
-Metroid (also biggy)
-Mario 64 (only if you want)
-Starfox DS (pretty useful)

and upcoming, if they only allow touch controls
-Zelda DS

let me know if theres anymore
again, thanks for feedback anyone! :)

interesting ideas :o, i was wondering though is it safe for the touch screen to be touched by bare fingers? I didnt normally touch it with my finger up until i play the new super mario bros and have to get that extra item on the bottom screen, and viewtiful joe ( have to switch between using the pad and touch the scrren constantly )

I like mine made from a simple paperclip.  Its made adjustable for my index and thumb soit is no problem

No,  Its not the tip of the paperclip its the middle of it bent into a hump shape.

How about this?  I think you can make one yourself easily.

that would be a little more difficult to copy but could still be done

I think its easier to make it like this one http://www.comfortstylus.com/

I made one right now in about 5min and it works very nicely.  the only problem is my plasti dip is dried up and I had to use hot glue which doesnt work too well becuase it leaves marks on the screen if you slide it which I dont think plasti dip would do.  here are some pictures

I used some thin wire shrunk some shrink tube around it and put hot glue on the end. if you wanted to you could always take the tip off a offical stylus and put the shrink tube around that also so you dont have to use hot glue

Edit: The hot glue was marking up my screen to much so I decided to cut one of the tips off one of my crapy replacement pens and put it on the tip instead.
