Greetz, new here and very frustrated with all of this!  =)

In your instructions you said to:

7 - select and run flashme.nds from the SuperCard menu

I cannot see anything in the list if it is named .NDS
(Yes I am using the latest firmware for my supercard)

I am FW2, so I am using the passme1 version, put in the latest (v6) of flashme.nds onto my supercard and renamed it to flashme.gba. (This is just a windows drag and drop and then rename, yeah?)

Boot up the NDS with the ezflash2 card with no game inside (a game inside gives me two white screens on boot up) and my supercard with only the flashme.gba file. By default, it boots to the gba mode, i select flashme.gba and the top screen just turns white.

I have also tried the combining of the ndsloader.bin and the flashme.nds to create a new flashme.nds.gba file and when I run that the top screen just turns black (but the power stays on.)

For both of these cases, i have tried starting without the ezflash card in, running the flashme and then quickly turning off the NDS, putting the ezflash2 card back in and turning it on again. No luck.

Also worth noting is that in both of these cases, the very top part of my supercard now has a new entry: "blahblahblah" (in card). I'm assuming it means that it did actually load the flashme?

Arg! Please help!

Thanks!

Maybe you aren't supposed to change the file name to .gba?

that is right it is supposed to be .nds and you have to be in nds mode to get the flashme file to run

Thanks for the responses, but I simply cannot get the supercard to boot up properly.  I have never seen the supercard logo, i only boot to the game boy logo, which prevents me from even seeing NDS files on my supercard.  GBA and SAV files are the only ones visible.

Just putting the flashme.nds file on the card still doesn't boot up.

Appreciate any advice you can give.

Please and thanks!

I posted this below in my thread, but I think it might be useful here too:

I did the "Chatroom A" firmware check on my girlfriend's Pink Japanese NDS, and it revealed a bluish-grey screen which indicates Firmware 2. (I have to admit, I did find this odd because this Pink NDS is fairly new on the market here.)

After much trouble (see the thread if you care), I was able to run the latest 1.6 flashme file in order to permanently change the firmware. It starts up, and immediately gives a Warning Message that reads something like, "This firmware is not recognized. Continuing will possibly render your NDS inoperable. Proceed at your own risk."

After a week of losing hair on this upgrade, I decided to just go for it and roll the dice. So, we followed the flashme instructions as normal and shorted the metal bit in the back, waited till the counter reached 100%, held our breaths, and rebooted. Voila, worked fine! (Big smile and big, big sigh.) Over the next two days I tested and played and tested, everything is working just great.

I did not have any problems after ignoring the message and flashing anyway. THIS ISN'T TO SAY YOU SHOULD IGNORE THE MESSAGE, only that for MY case, it turned out okay.

Hope this is useful to someone.

What might happen I think is that you won't be able to get back to your original firmware if you want to, or even if you need to.  From my understanding flashme stores your firmware and if your ds said "This firmware is not recognized. Continuing will possibly render your NDS inoperable. Proceed at your own risk." I think that the flashme will be unable to restore the original firmware.  (This might not be true though!  That is just my thoughts).

Correct me if I'm wrong?

So something trashed your FlashMe'd DS firmware and you only have a SC to fix it... :(
- Put the flashme.nds as above onto your CF/SD card (preferably on an empty card), and boot using START+SELECT+A+B
- press A and wait a few seconds and the firmware app should load up. Follow its instructions and you should be back up and going no problem.
I was preparing to flash a friend's DS tomorrow (he ordered a PassMe and is expecting it soon) and I mistakenly ran noflashme.nds, trashing my unprotected firmware. I followed these directions, copying everything off my SD card, formatting it and putting flashme.nds as the only thing on it. Amazingly, when I booted with A+B+SELECT+START, it actually loaded the Supercard menu! From there I ran flashme and restored my firmware with no problems.
Manually signing your posts is dumb.

Firmware versioning: Get a Passcard 3, a SuperKey, or a slot-1 flashkit. Then it doesn't matter which firmware you have.

I ordered a superpass2, but I have a silver DS (got it at launch).  Can I treat it just like the original superpass, or do I need to follow the separate directions for superpass2?

mikesinclair

you have to set the superpass 2 to be a superpass 1.  There is a file that comes on the program cd "I think" that has the superpass 1 file on it.  If not the file could "  I think" be found at http://www.supercard.cn/eng/download.htm

At the site that I posted a link to, click on the

* SuperPass2 Soft V1.0 (2006.01.07 update)

and download it
that will be an .exe file.  Install it and then start the program and you will see your first option is superpass 1

Since there's not a decent PassMe2 with SuperCard guide (As far as I know anyway) I wrote one - located on my site.
Should note it's mainly geared towards firefox atm.

Flashing a v4-5 DS with the Superpass2 was far easier than any of you people make it out to be. Here's what I did:

1. Put AMCE-0.gba, AMCE-0.sav, latest firmware and flashme.nds on my SD card. (That's the SRAM writer for Mario Kart.) Run the firmware upgrade.
2. Flip the switch on the SuperPass2, put it in the writer unit, plug that into the paralell port and plug in the USB cable. Flash it for MKDS.
3. Put the Supercard with SD in the DS, boot in GBA mode. Run AMCE-0.gba.
4. Put MKDS in the Superpass2, and put the SP2 halfway in the DS slot.
5. Quickly: power off, shove the SP2 in the slot, and power back on.
6. Run flashme, short SL1, and never have to screw around with doing this again.

Just remember to pull the SP2 out a bit, then push it in to click it out without breaking the latch.
