Quote from: "omaemad"is it mario or tony that crashed

Tonk Hawk

Koji

The reason castlevania worked was because of the video file. The only thing in the second 256mbit of therom was the opening video.

Tony Hawk actually stores game code in the second half, not just a video file... hence the crash.

Mario kart doesn't boot at all, and using the WRG method on the super card won't get you past the first screens for tony hawk.

omaemad

got it
u need to wrg loadme the file using the ???? above their logo

u need to patch(wrg`ed file) it with the sc software

then u rename the save to .sav not .nds.sav
copy the save and the wrg loadme version to sd or cf

this is nt tested

Doesn't work for the same reason the clean rom doesn't work. You get a 0kb file when you try to patch it with the supercard patcher no matter what patches you apply to it first.

omaemad

u still use the wrg version but the sc version generates the save

see compatiblity list guide

it uses the same method for fifa

^_^;;; I don't see how this would make tony hawk work at all because it'd still be a 512mbit game trying to fit into 256mbit of ram.

The only patcher that allows for 512mbit and 1gigabit roms to work on supercard without ripping is the supercard one.

Dudu.exe

^_^;; that's not how things work.

The reason the other loaders work is because you put the entire game into the ram and it doesn't have to read from the SD or CF card after that.

The reason why the super card patcher does it differently is because it alters the games code so that it can read from the CF and SD cards. This code is unique to the super card, it's even specific to the kind of super card. A supercard SD patched NDS game won't work on the CF version and vise versa.

To return to the question if MAC addresses of the DS can be banned..

I don't think they can ban MAC-addresses, because when I connect to the internet via my LAN/ROUTER, my MAC-address is not given to the responding server.

The question of "Can Ninty ban a game if it appears for let's say a million times through the use of an unique identifier code in the game?" That is WAY more likely.

If the Nintendo DS connect to a Nintendo Server for playing Mario Kart Online (i didn't try Mario Kart so i really don't know if it's connect to a Nintendo Server) Instead of Banning your MAC Address they can Ban your IP. So good luck changing it if you are on static ip.

Koji

dateq: They couldn't just ban a MAC address, but your friend code is a combination of your mac address and some random numbers. Since your friend code has to be sent through the nintendo server, I'm pretty sure they could get at least the nintendo specific portion of the MAC address through that.
