Hi guys,

Which MicroSD brand is better for the SC Lite?

I have seen Sandisk, Sandisk Ultra, Toshiba, Kingston.  I cannot find actual benchmarks (speed transfer) for any of them.  I know Sandsik Ultra will be faster, but what about the other 3 (or any other brands)?

The cheapest are Toshiba, Kingston, then followed by Sandisk.  I want the best bang for buck :)

Thanks.

Edit: I've found out that PQI and A-Data and KingMax do high speed microsd as well.  I would prefer to stick with KingMax and highspeed microsd.

Any info appeciated.

Hehe, you should use search first ;)

But Kingmax is the best in terms of speed, I ordered one 1gb A-Data microsd and it arrived today. I will post my results here if someone wishes so. I also have a Kingston 512mb card and it sucks... I would vouch for a default Sandisk card, if you don't mind about throwing in some extra dollars try the Ultra model but it doesn't give you any extra advantage except that you transfer files from and to it more faster. Both work perfectly with a SuperCard Lite.

Thanks pte.  I did do a search, but didn't help in that the threads focused on one specific make/model, and with people adding useless info into the threads.  Just wanted to have a thread which focused and listed any makes/models with a brief review/experience of each helping people make their decisions :)

I'd also prefer to stick with KingMax (or ATP) as they are the best ghigh end flash memory producers.  I've had a Sandisk Ultr II Sd before, but don't like the price :(

ATM, seeing as there are only a few makes of MicroSDs out atm, it looks like either a Sandisk Ultra model, or A-data.  I have'nt seen any 1GB brands for other makes yet :(

What's wrong with the Kingston?  Is it because of the crap xfer speed when xfering files to/from pc?

pte

The access time with a Kingston card is about 2.5ms while a regular Sandisk has a 1.0ms access time. The Ultra II is about 0.9ms and a Kingmax should be a 0.8ms card.

Alright, my 1GB A-Data MyFlash microsd has a 0.7ms accesstime and 7.6MB/s avg. reading speed.
