To make a long story short when my ds had a problem with it not turning on and I had to open I fixed it but when I fixed it I noticed when I plugged in the charger to the ds nothing happens.  No light comes on and the charger is good as it works with the other ds I have.  Any help on that?

if thats the problem you already fix it might the battery since someone else in another forum just had to change his battery.

Yea I think my one of the fuses blew from the supercard with a bent pin.  I fixed it buy soldering a bridge of solder on F2 and it fixed it.  But once I fixed it the charging function stopped.  I fixed another ds as I have two and the other one fixed the same way but still charges.  I don't think its the batter as I can switch the batter from the ds thats not charging to my other ds and charge the batter using that ds.

Oh come on no answers on this?  I don't think its a battery problem because I could take the battery out of this ds and put it in another ds and have it charge there.  Is the input where the charger goes broken?   I want to fix it because once the battery goes low I won't be able to charge it.

I doesn't seem like the battery is your problem.  All I can suggest is that you make sure F1 is still good.  Also make sure you didn't get solder on (or melted) something next to F2.  If you don't find a solution then I suggest you get a new DS main board on eBay for about $30.

I don't really feel like buying something else as I JUST spent $137 on a ds lite and Im really out of cash right now.  I probably have solder melted on the fuse but I don't want to mess with it and mess it up more.  When I soldered f2 I just made a bridge using just plain solder and not an actual thin fibre wire like was said.

Im just going to leave it alone for a while because Im not spending money on a ds when I have a ds lite.  I opened it up and couldn't find the problem I chekced for solder and I didn't see any.

it seems i also have this problem.. the f2 fuse is blown and after i bridge it, its no longer charging.

hope someone can find a solution.

I don't have a definitive solution. Make sure you check fuse F1 also. You might want to test with a different battery too.

Is your DS the "phat" version? You could find a new DS main board on eBay and replace it. You will need a tri-wing screwdriver.

Are you sure its not charging? Because I think on my Logic Board the F2 Fuse was blown so I bridged it with solder. It worked but the orange led didn't appear everytime I was charging it.

So whenever I try to charge the DS I built, it will not show the orange led. One way I can tell it's charging is if the power led is red and when I put the charger inside, most of the time it would turn green instantly.

Thanks for the info anyways but I sold that ds on ebay so I don't have it no more.  Thanks anyway.

Good for you Soolbgdog. Stingray1059 has a similar problem though, hence the new posts.
