Now this is cool as hell.

Teknecal made this and this is what he wrote about it:

QuoteHi all,

I've spent my time thinking what can be made for the Wii that is something new and came up with the Homebrew Browser (HBB). Have a look at the WiiBrew Wiki for more information.

The Homebrew Browser allows you to download the latest homebrew applications and games all through your Wii. No longer will you have to take your SD card out to transfer the files from your computer to the Wii or even use your computer. Once you install a homebrew application and you no longer want it on your SD card, you can delete it as simple as that!

No more dead links, no more extracting files, no more finding out that the homebrew application doesn't include an icon.png and meta.xml in the zip file!

Here is a video of it in action:

Here is the Wiibrew Wiki on it: http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/Homebrew_apps/Homebrew_Browser

You can (and sure as hell should) download it here: http://www.wiiregionworld.com/wiihomebrew/homebrew_browser_v0.1.2.zip

Sounds cool, but like the DSOrganize "Homebrew Database" I fear it may become obsolete if the author does not actively maintain it, replacing old applications with newer updates as they become available.

I downloaded the homebrew browser to download the Headtracking Demo on it but it won't work.
I downloaded the recent 0.2.0b version and it tells me "the network has failed to initialise" when I start the program, I tried v0.1.2 and it worked fine, but the headtracking demo isn't on there. I tried updating the version through the console but that didn't work either. I then tried v0.2.0a and v0.2.0 and neither worked, they gave me the same "network has failed to initialise" message.
Could anyone help me? Am I doing something wrong? Is anyone else having the same problem? Or can someone please post the headtracking demo here for me to download?
That's a lot of questions, sorry. Thanks in advance.

Works absolutely fine here. I actually had v0.2.0a on the card. Found my network, updated itself, and allowed me to boot the new version shortly after. Downloaded a bunch of apps and games afterward. Only think I could say is to double check your network settings. See if you can access the internet at all on the Wii.

Yeah, my internet works fine on my Wii. Can use the internet browser and play Brawl online.
Thanks for the help anyway.

Once I had a defective Wii, in which it would access the net via the browser and games, but would not use any of the Wiiconnect features such as news and weather. Can you use those as well? I just cannot understand why this app would not work for you. Does the HB channel see your network connection?

WiiConnect24 is working fine; the news and weather channels work fine, and I receive MK competitions etc.
The homebrew channel sees my internet fine. This is very strange.

UPDATE: 0.2.0b now works... but the new 0.2.1 update does the same thing as last time. I have no idea why it's doing it.

I got the headtracking homebrew I wanted though, thanks very much for the help.

I had a very strange issue with my Homebrew Channel (not the Browser) not connecting or loading apps so long as I had a GameCube memory card in Slot B. I also had issues saving with the SNES Emulator Channel.

It wasn't until I either took it out, or moved it to Slot A, that things would load up and connect properly.
