Over at WiiNewz there is a new application called Ocarina, which runs through the homebrew channel, and allows cheats to be run from an SD card. There is also an associated computer application to deal with the cheat codes.

Oh, the video shows him using the Zelda cheats.

What about

Seems to have a lot more- forget it, it's only tips not codes!

Does that mean that people could be playing SSBB online with cheats? I'd hate for that to start happening.

They can already do some of this with the Datel Powersave SD card (cheats work via Wii saves apparently). Seeing as this has already been cracked and is readily available from various P2P sites, I'm sure there are people out there already using it.

As stated in the JMR post above, if you go to the USB Gecko site, there is a forum that discusses this in more detail (it appears that the only way to dump to make the cheat codes is presently vis the USB Gecko).

A question for JMR (as you know about these things)

With the Powersave tool, the Datel encrypted saves are de-crypted to a standard Wii sav file with the cheat enabled. Do you see any way that the cheat code be extracted from this save file (as, otherwise, it means a total re-start of the game) and used in the Ocarina application?
