Just wanna let you guys know that today i officially became a A+ technician, YAY!!!!! :smitten:
now this is just a certification and is nothing compare to a Microsfot certification like MCSE or MCSA, but this certificate made the difference between me keeping my job or gettin fire, living or dying, jajaja

Some of you out there might want to know how i did it? well here is how you can also do it.

1.you should already have some computer knowledge, basic, and some technical experience. Have you ever fix/repair your computer or some else? that should do

2. Hands on training is very important, but its also important to know the acronyms, proper terms and professional trouble shooting scenarios ( what to do in certain cases). With this i can vouch for www.Quickcert.com.

they offer course training/preparation not only to become IT but to also pass the Comptia A+ essentials and Specialist, also its only $204 for each course, essentials and the specialist(all 3 in 1) so a total of $408. a To get the A+ certification you need to take and pass the essentials and one of the 3 specialist examx, 220-602(IT), 220-603(remote desktop), 220,604(depot). Most of you will take the 220-602 like me.

How great is their training? well ill be hones if it wasn't for their training i wouldn't have pass the EXAMS, key the EXAMS. There videos are good but kind of lame for some one like me who knew most the basic concepts and had been working on pc for 6 years, but if you dont know nothing, you will learn alot. However the real gold is in their practice exams and simulator exams. why? these are literally the questions you will see in all of the exams from Comptia A+. The wonderful thing about these simulators and practice exams is; that when you get the answer wrong, after your done testing, you'll see which ones you got wrong and why, and you learn the answer not just receive the correct answer.

3.once your done with the training course you can take the test at a test center, simply got to www.comptia.com and find a test center near you. Each test is $168, so you'll be spending $336 if im not mistaking.

I just simply wanted to share my happiness and experience, if there is any questions i will be more than glad to answer.

wow, thats very long time zektor, and im pretty sure you had been working on computers before 98'.
You must be a god on computers by now, huh? jajaja
what i want to master next is creating a server and hosting/creating a webpage but for that i need to master servers, and html or Mysql. it looks pretty complicated.

Actually, no god :) I took the CompTIA A+ exams in September of 98 for a tech position I had at Computer City. They were a computer superstore (Tandy Corp) specifically designed to compete with the likes of Comp USA..and were actually quite big at the time. 20-20 news came in to one of the locations and asked some simple computer questions to one of the techs...and he failed. They later announced how Computer City had employed technicians that did not had certs, so CC required us all to go take and complete the exams.

Heh...feels so long ago. I migrated out of that field however (although I still do work on PC's for "fun") some time ago. Congrats tho on the completion, and I am sure it will lead you to the path you want to take.
