It appears that this chap has modified the Gecko USB OS in order to generate another, apparantly fully functional, backup loader for un-modded Wiis.

The Gecko chap is not happy at all.

Very interesting. I have yet to mod my Wii because it's fairly new and my kids play it more than I do.  Nice to know they are getting close to having a fully functional software exploit.

I think everyone who wants to Mod a Wii should just buy a modchip. Ninty is going to figure out about this and patch real quick.

and lose their warranty, risk bricking, and also have a chance of it being blocked in an update? hardly seems worth it to me
