its finally been done, gamecube backups can be played on the wii without a modchip, softmii also allows you to launch your backups from the disc channel, so no more need for the backup channel being installed, the compatibility is even greater than the backup channel.
SSX Blur and House of Dead 2 didnt work on the backup channel but after i installed softmii and launched them from the disc channel they loaded
it also reduces the loading time that some games have issues with on the backup channel.

This is really good news, now lets hope an old fart like me can install it  , Does it work with 3.4 or will i have to downgrade?
