Now here is my problem. I have read that some DS roms thats on the net are programed to turn the DS into a brick and strangle the supercard until its all blue. So now im afraid to run any DS roms i've downloaded...

Anyone now what im talking about or am i just mumbling  :?:  :?:  :?:

Clean roms do not contain any code... just find a trusted place to download roms and it'll be fine.

If you are really worried, there is a program (search the forum, you'll find it_ called DSlazy which has a bricker scan on it that will tell you if a rom is infected or not.

Oh theres something else that i hope you can help me with. How do i know if i have got a new or an old ds? I know theres a serialnumber on the back but i dont know what it means. :?

If you bought it or got it repaired / replaced after August or so, it's probably "new".
Manually signing your posts is dumb.

Firmware versioning: Get a Passcard 3, a SuperKey, or a slot-1 flashkit. Then it doesn't matter which firmware you have.
