Could someone please reup this to someplace other than FileFactory? They seem to have not had "free slots" for the last hour. =\

I attached it to my post.

Are you planning to release the source code later on?

no, you miss any feature or found some bugs?

check first post -> update & 'ndsinfo.dat' is up to '3668'!

Reygok

Please, blastar, could you explain how to make an ndsinfo.dat? I tried it, but I've said already that I only got an 13 Kb File. How does this work exactly?

blastar

start the editor, load a working(!) 'ndsinfo.dat' an save it immediately... does this works for you?
please upload this 13kb file and i will check what's wrong!

Reygok

Oh, I didnt had this file anymore! So I tried to make a new one, and now it has a size of 455 kb. ^^
I think I did: Import->Advanscene_.xml the first time, but I have and Advanscene_S_.xml! Now I chose that one, and it worked. People should pay attention on this.

Reygok

blastar

no, this editor can import Advanscene_.xml, Advanscene_S_.xml & Ndsbbs_OL.zip... please try it again to verify, thank you!

Reygok

Yes I said that, the firt time, I chose: Import->Advanscene_xml, but I had an Advanscene_S_.xml! So, thats the reason why it didnt work.
This time, I chose Import->Advanscene_S_.xml, because its this one I actually have! And it worked! My file has now a size of 455 kb, Im now trying it on my SC... Hey, there is Save Size unknown, and all the rest is empty! but the file has the correct size... here it is:

blastar

ok, you did something wrong - your file does not contain the code and chk16-data because the editor does not load the 'database.dat'?!?! ;)
i try to explain:

1. unpack the zip-file, there must be two files ('...Editor v033.exe' & 'database.dat' <- this database is important! because the adv.xml does not contains this informations!)
2. start the editor
3. request: load and yuse database? -> yes <- important (maybe you skip this!?)
4. import adv...XML
5. should look like this:

WRONG:
- database.dat not loaded
- important informations (code & chk16) can not verified

RIGHT:
- database.dat not loaded (3668 Entries)
- important informations (code & chk16) verified!  :)

i hope this helps!?

with the next update i include this file in the binary... seems to be easier!?

Reygok

Okay, thanks, I didnt have this database, and the editor didnt even asked it, too! Now it should work...Yes! I finally works!

Thanks blastar

No. I did find this to be a very useful utility though. If you wouldn't mind releasing the source code (but retaining your rights to attribution as the author) you can get it hosted on Sourceforge for free. Sourceforge also offers version control systems, so working with this sort of thing is much more convenient. Makes releases and such much easier.

Zorlin's English Pack is currently migrating to Sourceforge (And probably later getting renamed to SCdev English Pack or something more neutral); and I was thinking about making something like a DSOne toolkit that does commonly needed tasks such as editing ndsinfo. That's the main reason I asked. :P

If you'd like to keep it closed-source though, I can understand and respect that. I'm happy to host it at http://wsclan.ws/store/hosted/scdev for you.

EDIT: Latest release is now in the scdev folder I mentioned above.

I've just learnt how to create .scc cheats! However, all of the cheats I've created have been under the ndsinfo database. What would happen if i decide to create a .scc for a new game thats not listed in ndsinfo? Will it still work? Do i have to put the .scc file someplace else other than the cheat folder to make it work?

Put it on the same folder where the game is, with the same name (short name) as the .SAV.
By some reason Supercard doesn't support long names for .SAV and for .SCC =[
