Cannot perform self-test?

Just got my SCDSi in the mail and have been messing around with it for a day or so.  However, I'm concerned by the fact that when I hold L+R on startup, the self-test does not appear.  Instead it goes straight to the SCDS menu, with the "Save Saver!" message printed in the info box until I let go of all buttons, at which point it finishes booting normally.

Does this happen to everyone with an SCDSi or just me?

I'm also having trouble getting ComicBook DS to launch, but that's another issue for another time.

it does not say in the dsonei manual that you can do any Trouble Shooting like it does with the scdsone

i think the dldi patcher with the dsonei is not up to scratch as ive heard a lot of homebrew is not working with it

Hm, that is very interesting, didn't notice the difference before.

With some of the homebrew, I'm not even sure if it's the DLDI patcher.  With CBDS for instance, if I enable the patch then it freezes at the "loading, please wait" screen.  If I disable the patch, the SCDS menu fades away and leaves me at two white screens.  Launching it from within Moonshell 2.0 doesn't work, but I haven't tried 1.71 yet.  I dunno, I've got work soon and I'll fiddle with it later.
