The only thing more I can suggest before changing out the mainboard is to try the BIOS swap trick. Of course this procedure requires having a second working DS lite. So, you need to take the BIOS/WiFi module out of a working DS lite and put it on your broken one. If your DS doesn't boot then just swap them back.  If your DS boots fine then start flashme/noflashme, then BEFORE bridging SL1 hot swap the original BIOS/WiFi modules back, then proceed with bridging SL1.  Otherwise I'm out of ideas.
