I never thought I would own a DS. 1st because they are so expensive. 2nd because the GBA does everything I want it to with a SuperCard.

But a co-worker took his dog for a walk 2 days ago or so, and found a beat up DS on the ground. The co-worker decided to leave it and see if someone came back for it. He walked around the block and it was still there.

Its a bit beat up. scratched screen, no DS pen, and the cover is missing where the games plug into. But it works. He sold it to me for $3.00 LoL. he was gonna throw it away. I am just gonna clean it up, buy replacement parts and see how it does. he says it works, Too tired to try anything today.

Nice. If your $3 DS actually works, touchscreen and all, then I think you will find DS is much better than GBA.

To add that the DS has a GBA slot anyhow so you can play your GBA games etc on it is an added bonus  :)

Is it an old style ds PHAT (big and chunky) or the LITE if its the lite you will need to get yourself a charger if its a PHAT then your in luck your GBA charger will work fine with it  :)

A new Stylus is pretty cheap you can pick them up for a couple of £/$'s Deal Extreme sell them for both lite and Phat along with flash cards to play homebrew etc suggest getting an AceKard 2.1 they are great budget cards with good support :)

Free postage too from Deal Extreme although Expect about a 2 week wait but the savings make it worth waiting for :)

Any more questions JUST ASK  (note even though this is primarily a SUPER CARD forum we can help with all DS related issues and flashcards etc) ;)

Depends.  I just recently bought a backlit SP and am in love with it.  The screen gives me so much joy, and I'm actually playing GBA games again, something I haven't done on my DS for quite a while.  Now granted, I've got a DS Phat, so perhaps the difference between the DS Lite and backlit SP isn't quite as noticeable, but still...

Yeah, as you know the DS lite screens are brighter and have more vivid colors.  I meant to say DS games are better than GBA, IMO. Playing games with two screens and a touch interface is the way to go.  Most of the GBA classics have some sort of DS remake by now.  Still feels good to play some classic GBA sometimes.

True 'dat.  It's hard for me to go back to playing Tetris Attack with buttons now that I've been spoiled with Planet Puzzle League's touchscreen controls.
