Truely, Nintendo did not give me much too surprise at recent E3 expro, but today I have seen a mysterious piece of video, which surely made me...a little shock. The video shows us to watch avi (supposedly DivX/Xvid), Realmedia and Windows Media Video format videos on DSi! And according the interface on the screen, it apparently is not the homebrew MOONSHELL! And MOONSHELL is compatible for dpg format videos only.

Further more, deponds on the hardware configuration of DSi,I guess it can not hardware decode RMVB...

I watched this video again and again, then I'd like to say some analysis of mine, and you may also watch this below:

1.Someone just played a trick with us. Actually it played dpg format videos on DS, which used some special way to make it looked like a RMVB or AVI format.

2.Perhaps DSi was used just as a monitor, and there is another device to play the video, which we don't know what it exactly is, just as the former hoax that to use DS run windows XP.

3.It may be some Play-Yan-like device, and Play-Yan is a slot2 device which might allow us to watch videos on DS and DSL, but in this video, DSi was used to play the video, and we all know there is no slot2 on DSi. So it must be some Slot1 Play-Yan-like device?

4.This DSi was faked, and it just was a MP4 Player which was modified to DSi-look.

So far we can see three kinds of format videos on the screen. They are avi、wmv and rmvb,of which the highest resolution is 640, and it played so fluently.

Anyway, I'm a little confused about such a thing, even PSP can not be used to play these format videos...

I think #1 because there is no possible way with standard DS/DSi hardware.
