Hi all   My little niece accidently placed a penny in her beloved DS Lite and now, it won't turn on.  If i plug in the charger, the orange light will turn on and stay lit for about a second or so and go out.  I've done some reading and research and I was wondering if this might be a problem related to the fuse mentioned in various articles.  I've ordered the odd screwdriver so I can take it apart to check those fuses but I was wondering if anybody has any opinions on Ella's little pink DS.  Could a penny in the card (DS game) slot cause the said fuse(S) to blow?  I feel like she probably fried something for good and I understand I won't know for sure untill I take it apart but I thought I'd ask you guys while I wait for the driver to arrive in the mail.  I lent her my DS for now but I think I'm probably gonna have to give it to her if I can't fix hers, she's absolutely addicted to it:-\

I forgot to mention that it's a completely stock Lite that has never been modified.

my dslite also have the same problem in the past. somehow a metal coin enters inside slot 1 and I carelessly turn on the ds. it showed the same symptom. when I send it to be fixed, it was conformed that the fuse has blown. replace the fuse and everything went fine.

All you need to do is bridge fuse F2 with a small bit of wire and solder.

Ahhh, you guys are the best!  I'll let you know how it goes when I get the Nintendo driver.  One thing though, I understand about simply jumping the fuse with a wire but how hard is it to replace the fuse itself?  I have no probs soldering so I figure I'll fix it the right way just incase my niece does it again, although I doubt it since my sister gave her a little lecture on how she has now broken 2 DVD players and a DS by stuffing coins in it   Should I buy the fuse off of fleabay?

Thanks guys, got the nintendo screwdriver in the mail today and was able to fix it.  My niece is happy she got her pink DS back and I'm glad I got my white one back
