Ok the Japan release of Wii Sports Resort is out. It works with a Wiikey (but do the Wii Brick Blocker first or it will try to update your system with a NTSC-J update and give you a brick). It did NOT work with the USB loader the first time I tried it. I found out that it has a tutorial video that it MAKES you watch before you can play the game. If you play the game from disc and watch the video it creates a save file and then you can play the game from the usb loader because it wont make you watch the video again. The tutorial video is what is giving the USB loader problems.

So if you want to play Wii Sports Resort NTSC-J here are the option:

1: With a Mod Chip: Download and use the Wii Brick Blocker to remove the update. Burn to disc and play.

2: With a Mod Chip: Download and use the Wii Brick Blocker to remove the update. Burn to disc and watch the mandatory video. It will then create a save file that will start you PAST the tutorial video from now on. Back out to the Wii main menu and start the USB Loader. Choose the game and it will now work from the USB Loader.

**NOTE**

My Wii is not soft modded, I have a Wiikey. I assume step 1 will work with the softmod too, but I can't confirm because I can not try it. Someone with a soft modded Wii will have to let us know.

You MUST have the Wii Motion Plus adapter to play the game. It will NOT play in any form without it.

The menus are in Japanese but it is super easy to navigate as there is a little video window next to each game so you can easily tell what the game is.

It is an AMAZINGLY fun game!

You will need to use USB Loader GX. You will need to have a cios249 installed that can work around the 002 error (13a or 10). Also of note, when you extract the dol in the directions below, make sure you go into the GX's configuration and set the 'alternate dol' folder to wherever you place it.

edit: Also of note, I set the language to be Japanese. I'm not sure if that did anything, but you're not going to get it in English or anything else no matter what you set it as. So if you get an issue, try that as well.

to make it you must use wiiscrubber:

-> partition2 -> sys -> mpls_movie -> player.dol

extract player.dol and rename it : RZTJ01.dol, put this file in alt-dol folder in your sd card and lauch usbloader gx, don't forget to activate it in the game's options!

launching the game you will be able to see the video of wiimotion plus after it reboots the wii, so relaunch usbloader gx and deactivate the alt-dol option your game will work perfectly!

Alternate dol function is also available in NEOGAMMA loader which is used for SOFT MODS ....so guessing this will work with soft mods too!

I haven't got this downloaded yet so cannot test ..there's a couple of growing threads on GBAtemp on this so no doubt there will be a proper solution soon

Also not sure about the need to have the motionplus or it won't work only seen that on here so far!?

Ok the above method along with NEO GAMMA R5 RC1 with Softmodded Wii works but .... yeah YOU NEED THE WII MOTION PLUS HARDWARE! you cannot get any further without it nagging you to connect it!

I finally got around to playing Wii Sports Resort (J) with the wife and kids this weekend. So far Archery and Ping Pong are our favorites. The MotionPlus really does add a fresh new dimension of motion control compared to the mindeless waggle of many legacy Wii games.

Note I got Wii Sports Resort (J) ISO working without needing to burn a DVD. This is how I did it:

I'm currently using CIOS38 rev 13 (not rev13b) and the latest USB Loader GX rev 566
I used WiiScrubber to extract the following file from the Wii Sports Resort (J) ISO:

\partition2\sys\mpls_movie\player.dol

I renamed the file to RZTJ01.dol and put it in the root of my SD card.
I started Wii Sports Resort (J) ISO with USB Loader GX using these settings:

Video Mode: Disk default
VIDTV Patch : Off
Game Language: Japanese
Ocarina: Off
IOS: 249
Parental control: 0
Error 002 fix: ON
Patch country settings: OFF
Alternate DOL: ON
Block IOS Reload: ON

This allowed me to watch the required intro video about Wii Motion Plus.

Now I play Wii Sports Resort (J) ISO with USB Loader GX using these settings:

Video Mode: Disk default
VIDTV Patch : Off
Game Language: Japanese
Ocarina: Off
IOS: 249
Parental control: 0
Error 002 fix: ON
Patch country settings: OFF
Alternate DOL: OFF
Block IOS Reload: ON

MEH .... need to get a motion plus but its almost twice the damn price here in the UK compared to what the rest of the world are paying

they are about £18 ($31) (â,¬22) is the cheapest price I've seen

kkan, at least you can buy it, in Argentina you can't buy it yet, and if it costs around 30 USD to you, it'll probably cost around 70 USD here.
Edit: they're appearing in MercadoLibre Argentina (an eBay like site), and cost 60 USD plus shipping, if a lot of games use it I may buy 1 or 2 later.

  Greets Dudes and Dudettes... Question...? I am currently doing the procedure mentioned below to try to play Wii Sports Resort (J) and when I open the ISO in WiiScrubber I do not see a partition2, only partition 0 and partition 1  where is this \partition2 at? Its the first time I've used wiiscrubber so yes I'm a noob..... some instructions would be nice...or point me to a link..  I have the USB loader GX working..... Thanks
