After playing a lot of games on the SC, it seems that a lot of games have slowdown and you will not appreciate this unless you have played the real games.  Between my sons and my games, we have over 100 GBA games.  Examples are Guilty Gear, Street Fighter 3, Gunstar Heroes, Infiltrater, Puzzle Bobble etc.  Since the games are playable, you do not notice the 10 -20% slowdown.  You will though if you have played the original games.  All games were only patched with the save game, so the usual wait state issues with the sram should not be an issue.

I still love the SC card, though I need to notch it from an A+ to a B-.  Of the 40 games I have tried that seemed a little slow, 30 of the 40 turned out to be slow as suspected.  Again, you would not notice if you did not play the original, so ignorance is bliss.

Frankly, I would not care if any GBA games work, since NES, GB, GG and SMS play perfect (some SMS games are slow, but, the ones that are are no good anyway.

yes gba games got many slowdown
but with pfpatch a.k.a prefetch patch many game got improvement

disadvantage of pfpatch is consume more battery like 10-20%

hope this will help for playing gba
