I love the sleep mode function, but I get paranoid about losing battery power.  Does it use any extra power when using the supercard?  How long could it stay in sleep mode before going into the red?

Well... I've had my DS in sleep mode for over 24 hours with my super card in... I can't honestly say for certain... but there must be power at LEAST going through to the DS slot (easy to prove. Go into sleep mode and try to take your DS card out and the DS instantly turns off)

While I have accidentally taken my supercard out while in sleep mode and the light was still blinking... I can't say for certain that there is no power going to it.

Thats all I needed to know I'd never be leaving it in sleep that long.

I did notice sleep mode doesn't work if u dont have a DS game in there, I tried it with mario kart and bubble bobble and it went wacky

Yeah the sleep function is great for when some fool rings you or knocks on the door when your 2nd place and 100meters from the finish line in Mario Kart and your just about to fire off that red tortoise shell to secure 1st place!
