I have the original, but it will take me ages to complete it again!

sounds like a stupid question, but what do i do with the save? rename it to what my current save is and copy it to the SD card?

Yes, copy it to your memory card but before you do that just in case it does not work on your setup copy your actual sav file somewhere else safe before you overwrite it.

Then you know if it does not work you can always copy your original sav file back where it was.
