SC 1.53 + Flashme V5 + MK = Overwriting NDS Firmware ?

Hi !

Everytime when I play Mario Kart on SC it all works fine. But when I end the game and I start my NDS again, I have two Black screens ! I know that some part of the NDS Firmware was overwritten by the game , but I have to do everytime the flashme.nds again to recover the NDS Firmware !

Is it normal or what did I do wrong ?

(Sorry for my english,it`s bad I know)

Are you 100% sure you're using flashme v5? You shouldn't have this issue if so. Download it again...

Yeah !

It`s a silver NDS and it was patched with V5 ! I newer had flashme on it before I flash the Version 5 !

Thats the strange !

I had the problem of the save file corrupting and causing two black screens when restarting Mario Kart making it unplayable, this was solved by applying the patch so that it runs of a 2mbit flash cart (Nintendogs). However I find it strange that it has affected your firmware if you are running Flashme V5 things should work fine.

Are you sure that its corrupting the firmware instead of just the Mario Kart game? Try rebooting your DS without the Supercard does it just show two black screens then?

Ok !

It was a good tip to reflash the V5.

I have done it and guess what : I works like a charm !

But what a strange behaviour of my first V5 flash. Everything looked to be fine ! It reaches 100 % and it worked with the buttons abxy.

But now : 100% !

Well... all 4 of the previous versions would say 100% and work with ABXY.

Most likely you downloaded it from a site that hadn't updated to V5, or said they had updated to V5 but still had the old V4 on the site.

were did you get your last flashme v5, I never had to short the SL1 I just did it again and the installer said v5 but no short needed. I updated form v3. did anyone have this happen. I have no problem with Mario Kart, but games that are posted working like 0113 0135 don't work for me.

Im using the same setup and flashme v5 runs MK fine everytime...

except for a corupt savegame data message when I start the game but as all my savedata is still there I guess it doesnt matter!

I had bought my DS 3 weeks ago. It was new ! Then I have dll the Flashme V5 from this http://ds.gcdev.com/dsfirmware/ website.

I have short the SL1 till it reaches 100%. Then I do a reboot and all seems to be workin !

But than on MKDS after I switch off/on my DS -> black screens <- ! I recover the flashme.nds software from supercard holding down the A+B+Select+Start button and the DS is working again !

So I flashed the V5 again,second time with SL1. And now it works 100% ! I did exact the same @ the first time.
