On my last trip I got to the very last level of Alex Kidd in miracle world(if anyone hasen't played this game they need to) and I couldn't figure out the puzzle.  I tried saving the state to make sure it worked i loaded it.  I also turned it off then back on(real quick hardreset of gba) and the state was there.  Then after a while when i came home i checked to see if the state was there it was gone!!!   I don't have anything special just the game in my sega directory.  can anyone offer some help?

Sounds like you forgot to write the saver to the CF.  When you did the quick hard reset, you essentially did the same thing that's used in the Quick Power Cycle procedure that we have.  The save will stay in RAM for a few seconds before the RAM totally loses power and your save along with it.  If you use an emulator to make a save state, remember also to write the saver to the CF via the regular save option, I think.

the supercard doesn't seem to want to go to the saver in drSMS everytime i push L+R+A+select nothing happens..... I know how to use the saver with gba but not with sms or nes, etc.  also im not trying to save the game sram im trying to save the state that drsms creates.  thanks.

The save state information is stored in the SRAM of the Supercard.

Follow the steps exactly as I describe them, and you'll save your save state successfully.  If you cannot access the CF using LT + RT + SELECT + A, then there is something wrong with your Supercard.  Did you create a .sav file for the ROM, as per my instructions?
