smart ass   ......dont worry man, everyone had this problem. Just use MarioKart to set up your connection and those same settings will automatically work in AC.

I think a lot of people get confused because they think that's how they have to connect to their friends through WiFi. But that's simply where to set the wifi settings.

To play online you have to complete all the tasks for tom nook then go to the gate and talk to the dog to the right and tell him you want your friend code. You'll connect to nintendo WiFi and get your code, then you can use that code to play with people.
