How the hell do you use the GBA Media Converter/Meteo?

Ok, I have 1.30 installed on my computer, for the GBA Media Converter, and I can't get my videos to fully convert. I've tried a few different .avi files, and they all seem to only convert like 4 minutes of the video, after taking a long time. This is with trying Standard Mode, and also by fiddling with the Manual Settings. It also seems to restart a few times; the 'current file' value resets after awhile.

With meteo (using 1.4.0), It'll work up until the last part, saying something in japanese, with 256 mb in there. Does it only let you make files under 32 megs? Cause that filesize can't really give me any decent quality for TV eps.

If anyone has any pointers, please help me out...

32MB is the limit when addressing files on the GBA. you can split it to multi parts, as has been done with most video previously.

If you have a supercard, you could also use the old GBA MP software and the filmplayen.bin to put that format directly on the card. (see http://scdev.org downloads, or the official SC downloads as well.) If you have the SD version of SC, I suggest getting the one on the official site (filmplaySDen)

Hopefully Socket sees this, since I just noted now that there are indeed two separate version of the filmplayer (with diff checksums), one for the CF (newen) and one for the SD (sden) ;)

Is there any way to get the GBA Movie Player to fill the screen on the DS?  There's quite a big black border around the image.

No because the game is loaded into GBA mode. As far as the program is concerned, it doesn't even know there is extra space around the screen.

So the 32 meg limit is for the .gbm movies too? I still can't get meteo to work right with any .avi's though...it'll convert to 100 percent then give me an error.

But back to the GBA Movie Converter, I put it on the lowest settings, and it worked. However, this is less than ideal; it looks quite a bit worse than standard. I still  don't understand why in standard mode it keeps resetting; shouldn't it make two separate movies if there is a 32 meg limit?

You can move the slider to get a different limit so I really don't think it has to be smaller than 32 megs...

If you use the movie converter and the filmplay.gba, no you will not be limited to 32mb as the movies will stream from the card... I think <_<

Wow a way to put dvd rips in a GBA cart and play them on the DS :-p!  Is the player any better on the NDS?  I wonder someone could write a tutorial for people on the subject since people are having problems.

Moonshell, the DMV convertor, it utilizes the whole DS screen and has an overall better quality, and works faster.

And the files sizes are only 10-20x larger because they don't support lossy compression.
