I just got a blue NDS. I want to be able to play some ROMS. From all the reading I have done I think I have this down but am not sure, if you gurus can let me know if I have this correct before I start spending money I would appreciate it.

Things one needs to do this:
1. NDS: check
2. FlashCard: Was going to get the Supercard CF from here http://www.kicktrading.ca/product_info.php?currency=CAD&cPath=23&products_id=33
3. Passme2: Was going to get one from here http://natrium42.com/shop/
4. ROMS: check

Is that all I need? From what I have read I don't need to flash my firmware if I use the passme2 right?

I Put an original game in the passme2, the supercard in the GBA and turn on my NDS? That it?!

Any help you guys are willing to offer would be greatly appreciated, please remember in your reply that I have NO experience with this! Thanks a lot

When you purchase the passme2, you will have to decide what game you will want it programmed for. I chose Metroid Demo, as I have that card.

So, make sure you purchase a version of the passme2 that matches the game you own.

With the passme2, it is a little mroe involved with running NDS code. You have to write to sram, and do a quick power off/on while swapping in the passme2. It sounds more difficult than it is...do a search in the forums as this method has been discussed quite a few times. Basically, th epassme2 should not really be considered the "way" to run NDS games, but rather the way to get into NDS mode for flashing via flashme.

Yep. I used my passme2 for all about 30 seconds before I flashed, now it sits in a box in the cabinet waitig to flash another DS someday!

Oh I see, so I need to get a passme2 in order to flash my firmware? Is there a guide that will walk me through step by step on how to do this? Including where to download the firmware etc.

RT, thank you for replying to my post on those other forums. Frankly though - and no offence to you, it just wasn't any help.

I am looking for a more detailed explanation as I have NO idea what I am doing. It seems that everywhere I read people are explaining how modding your NDS to play roms works in a technical sence - but I am trying to get someone to walk me through HOW to do it.

I there is someone out there who was in the same boat as me when they started getting into all this and would be willing to teach me HOW to get this up and running so I can play roms or point me to a Newbie 101 guide I would appreciate it - thx!

There are some extra things u need to do if using PassMe2, and those things are available as links in that thread. Like :

In short , instead of plugging in the PassMe and start and select the FlashMe file to run, you boot your NDS in GBA mode (don't insert DS cart or PassMe2 into NDS first, just SC in the GBA slot), run the the .gba proggy here :

Then put in your PassMe2 with the original game, in one swift motion turn your DS off and on again, and it should bring u up to the FlashMe screen and then you can get the rest of the instructions from the thread link above.
