Read the appropriate section in the sticky and you'll see what you've forgotten to do.

i followed all the steps but when i pres lt+rt+select+a nothing happens

Diablo

You may have followed all of the steps, but you neglected to look at the Notes section directly below them.

Quote from: "Sticky"Notes:

  • Emulated games, like GBA games, require a .sav file in order to save to the CF card.
         - The ROM and its save file must be in the same directory, and share the same name, just as a GBA game.
         - Example: Tetris.nes may be the name of a NES ROM, so Tetris.sav would need to be the name of the save file.
         - To create a save file for emulated games, you can copy the "save.sav" file in the SuperCard software's folder, and rename it as previously described.

kevin

i've done that too

Diablo

Really...and the save file is in the same folder and shares the same name as the NES ROM?  That's quite interesting...

Are you using the built-in version of PocketNES, or are you using an injected .gba version?  Is it just one NES ROM, or do they all exhibit this behavior?

kevin

im using the pocketnes that's already built in. i just tried contra and it works, but i cant get it to work for any other game.

kevin

i just looked at the files and noticed that contra is 129 kb and all the other roms are 257 kb. could that have anything to do with it?

Diablo

It may.  I would try other NES ROMs that are the same size as or smaller than Contra and see if they work.  If they do, then I would try other NES ROMs that are the same size as or larger than 257 KB and see if they work.

BTW, have you verified your ROMs are good dumps?

kevin

i tried all my roms and it only works with contra. how do i verify if they're good dumps? btw thanks for the help diablo.

kevin

sorry i was wrong, it works for some games regardless of size. mega man is 500kb and it works but other games such as river city ranson and ninja gaiden which are 257 dont work.

kevin

thanks diablo i figured it out. i think the .sav file i was using was bad, i copied one from a different game and it works fine now.

Diablo

Well, at least you figured out what was wrong. :D

You can use GoodNES with the GoodGUI frontend to verify your dumps, BTW.

Ya, make sure you copy over a good .sav for all emulators.

Argggggh!        Try as I might, I can't seem to get L+R+select+a to do anything.  Like the other guy, I've got a .sav file with the name, like Tetris.nes and Tetris.sav.  I used the .sav file that was in c:\program files\supercard\save.sav

But still I will save my state in the emulator, then try to do L+R+select+a and it does nothing!  What the heck     Saving RTS works fine in gba games...I have the newest firmware and software.
