The problem wih newer games is Memory...  DS do not have enouth memory...

maybe if some one findout how to use Supercard/m3 memory as a expansion.. it may work!

Seems like I can always count on you to raise my hopes :)
I swear, I just can't wait...I'm checking the boards every 30 mins...

Hmm...No SD support yet, so it does'nt really matter, but...does anyone know how would I go about extracting the files from my Loom CD ?
I can't see the audio track(s) when browsing the CD, apparently, it's something about mixed audio tracks ..?
Does anybody know ?

Yoko99

IT WORKS !!!!???
Is that normal?

I downloaded the archive of Scumm 0.5 that supposedly only works for CF, did the usual built my rom, and it works on my SD !!
Anyone know what's up ?
Well, it does still say CF not found, but then it opens the archive and the games are apparently playable...I've only tried a floppy version of Loom so far, but will experiment more.
Back to you very soon !!

Try it out, you SD users, and tell me what happens !

Of course making the scummdata.zip and running the builddata.bar work even on SD-card.

But we want to place the game directly on SD-card and play them from there. THIS is not yet supported.

Ooooh, I see, lol, sorry for getting all excited...
So what this means is I just can't play games over 30 Mbs yet, right ?

Basically, I can enjoy all the new features if i just try to play the floppy versions ?

Aah, when, when, when will SD be fully supported ??

I'm leaving for england in less than 2 weeks. Oh, what a great departure gift that would be :)

"hint,hint"

yeah i tried compiling it with cory's sd code, got it to boot and read dirs but not load the game, i should think when cory finishes converting asm to c in his sd version of the fat driver agentq or maybe cory or someone good will make an sd version. i dont have the skills at the mo. cant work out why it crashes, cory did say his read code crashes at the mo but it can read/write the ini file but when i load a game it says failed to load actor 92 or something (for MI1) - anyone know what normally causes this error, im still looking for it in the code lol.

yeah you can!! BUT !!!! you need to convert the music to a  proper format.. i dont remeber it now!

Yoko99

Hmm...I guess I could easily convert the track, but I can't find it on the CD :(
I know it's there, Windows just won't display it for some reason..it says something about it in the Scummvm readme file, but I did'nt quite get it...does'nt give much help...
Anyone know what I'm missing ?

PS : About converting the track it says all about it in the Scummvmds 0.5 readme :

Format: WAV
Compression: IMA ADPCM
Samplerate: 22050 Hz
Channels: Mono
On the fly encoding: On

Hi.

Does anyone know if it is possible to get the putt-putt series (humungous software) working on scummvm (I'm using supercard with CF). The putt-putt on the moon DOS demo works, but the Windows full version just says that it can't find a file. It's a pity because my 4-year old loves putt-putt  :D

Mark.

Yoko99

Well.
I have Loom CD too, so I've been able to test it.
I converted the track to the right format and built the archive.

The game works, but whenever a dialogue line or a music cue is supposed to come up, all I get is the 1 hour long Track 1 that starts over, and then it will eventually stop and start over again.

Monkey Island CD Version : I have converted all the tracks to the right format and built my archive with them, but it says it fails to open trackN.wav everytime it tries

Oh, and of course(I made another post about that in help section)
I have NOT figured out a way to save ScummVM as it is when I turn off my DS for a couple of seconds.
If anyone could help me with that, it'd be great.

Another question : I heard how you could'nt have a scumm archive over 30 Mbs.
What's up with that, I can build working archives that are over that.
What am I missing here ?

Oh, and also...
Dudu, you said Loom CD and Indiana Jones 4 (I assume you meant talkie version) worked amazing.
So if you can help me with that Loom problem it would be cool, but also, I have a q about Indiana Jones.

In the current situation with Direct filesystem not being supported on the SD and me still having to build an archive(supposedly, smaller than 30 Mbs), I can't just stick Monster.sou in there, now can I ?.
I imagine you were trying these 2 games on CF without building any archive ? you were reading straight off the monster.sou file ?

If I wanted to do that today, I could'nt right ? there is no format I could convert monster.sou to that would work, right ?

Well there. That('s a lot of questions. As you can see, I'm pretty confused, hope you guys can help me clear things up

Cheers !

Use QPC (quick power cycle). Search it, there are probably lots of posts about it.

Critical_Impact

After saving in ScummVM, turn off your DS, turn on agian very quickly in DS mode(A+B+X+Y). Goto saver(press right), find your ScummVM.nds.sav file and select it. Save. Next time you start ScummVM you should find your save there. BTW, if you have no save and just a .nds file, copy the blank 64kb save file from the supercard directory and rename it to whatevername.nds.sav and place it in the same directory as you scumm nds file

masterX

so do you have to use the QPC method
i thought direct file system support lets you
use the save normally?
