Sorry, this must seem pretty elementary.  I did look around this site and others, but none give directions as to how to do this.
Also, are there different versions of the supercard sd hardware (just wondering) thanks.

there ARE directions on how to do this.. on this site and others.. you didn't search enough..

If you are talking about the firmware of the supercard, you need to put the update file in the root directory of your SD/CF card, and boot up, and follow the directions.. (if the update is a .scu file, the update will happen automatically when you boot up, if the .scu file is in the root directory of your memory card).

If the update is a .bin file (such as v1.54, the latest firmware) you need to boot up into GBA mode (don't use passme or flashme) and select the .bin file, and press A.  follow the on-screen directions.

Make sure you have the right firmware (CF vs. SD, depending which model you have).

There is only one official version of the supercard SD hardware.  I say 'official' because there have been minor changes in manufacturing (my wife's supercard and mine have slightly different chip layouts on the pcb), but there is no 'official' revision.  they are essentially the same.

Thanks for your help, Sneef. I really appreciate it.
