If you have an older DS chances are you have the old firmware, get a superpass, insert it into the DS slot, put a ds game into the superpass(anything but mario 64), and you will be able to run nds homebrew from it

There is no risk if you are using a Superpass UNLESS you run malicious code in which case installing Flashme would allow recovery.

I'd say that's a pretty huge risk. Though bricker has become a lot less prevalent... it is still out there...

Flashme has it's own risks... but at least it's recoverable if you screw up or if you get brick me'd.

Anyways... there are tons of tutorials in the "info" section of this website. If you JUST bought your DS not too long ago, then you have an upgraded firmware DS and you'll require a passme2 (read the "installing flashme using passme 2" cause unless you like doing super long complicated steps every time you want to play a backup, you'll be installing flashme on an upgraded DS)

If you bought your DS back in september or earlier (or there abouts) you'll probably have the older DS and can use just passme which is a lot easier.

How come? I've always used only Mario 64 and did'nt get much problems...well, I did have a few problems like saves getting corrupt, only it seemed to be a random thing, and most games have always worked fine...so...what's the deal ?

As I understand it the USA version of Mario dosn't work as a backup cart but the UK versionis fine, I use that or Meteroid demo, whatever comes out of the bag 1st :)
