Hiya everyone, I'm brand new to this forum  :D

I was wondering, I currently have a 512 MB CF card and SC with tons of movies on it using the GBA Media Player.  I am wondering how the quality of movies is on moonshell proportional to the size of movies it puts out compared to GBA Media Player.  The reason I'm asking without trying it myself is I would like to know without having to re-encode all my movies and putting them back on.

Thanks in advance  :D

GBAMP runs your movies in GBA mode. Moonshell runs them in DS mode, letting you see them full screen.

Besides that, I don't know, I've never owned a GBAMP.
Manually signing your posts is dumb.

Firmware versioning: Get a Passcard 3, a SuperKey, or a slot-1 flashkit. Then it doesn't matter which firmware you have.

Hmm, in that case, how big would an average video around 24 minutes long be in Moonshell, using the DS screen size?

With the GBAMP it's around 60MB, but the quality is nothing too amazing.

Lets just say files are a lot bigger using moonshell, but mpeg-1 encoding is being added into moonshell so files should be smaller soon

Mpeg 1 and 2 support will be in the next version of moonshell.

Sounds promising

it's VERY promising. heh. there are lots of good tools already in existence for mpeg video..  unlike gbamp video (let alone the non-crystal engine version)..

I have been pretty much avoiding any video playback on the DS right now. I have played with the MPEG converter, and while good, needs some fixing. I am sure that video playback will be incredible down the road however. I am personally praying for a TCPMP port myself :)
