Castlevania Save Freaking Deleted

Okay, I was about 20% through Castlevania: DoS, and my save just deleted. It was going fine for a while, then I got a game over, and directly after that, I got a "corrupted save." When I went to load it, all 3 were "New Games."

Is there anything I can do about this?

i had the same problem. i had repatched castlevania with the new software, and used my old save. 33% completed! the first time i saved (with the re-patched rom) it corrupted my save and i have NOTHING!

i don't think there's a solution. i have a backup of my save at like 20%.. i'll use that. it's possible that my castlevania was repatched with 2.43 instead of 2.432 (i have both installations) so maybe that's the culprit. i'm going to do some experiments and find out.

Yeah, that totally sucks! At least you have a backup, though.

So basically I'll have to start over again? There's no way to get a save and put it on like GBA yet?

I'm a creature of habit, so I never repatched Castlevania after I had cut the intro a bit, and used NDSPatcher. I have my save files if anyon wants them. There are 3 files, one at 90 something percent, a completed game with the best ending (Menace defeated). The other was a copy after becoming Dark Lord Soma. The last one is about 45% through on Julius mode, and I'm still playing that. If anyone wants them, PM me.

No, sorry. If anyone has one around 10-40%, though, that'd be fine.

And what do I have to do to get it to work? Just copy the .sav onto it or what?

That's why I have made a .bat file to windows which backups all the save files from CF-card to my computer. I run that everytime I connect the card to computer and update my games in it..

That's not that far into the game and it's a really good game. Why don't you just play it again from the beginning?

..Because I already did twice and I don't want to again, that's why. Playing the same exact part of a game (especially the beginning) for two hours more than twice isn't too much fun.

I was going to have my friend just play through until he gets to that part, (yes, I'm that lazy) but he sucks at the game, and keeps dying.

Oh well.

I've had the same thing happen to me on Castlevania,thanx to backups on my PC I still managed to finish the game but it's still a pain in the ass...
It's also happened to me on Yoshi and Spiderman 2, once on each(it was the first time Castlevania messed up and those 2 were on my card at the time, so...that could be relevant...but one other game that also was on the card was fine..weird..that's why I feel it may be totally random.

And also, The Urbz acts weird. It requires me to save twice in a row in the same slot. If I save once, it says the save is corrupted, but if I save a 2nd time right after that, it's fine, so, The Urbz is not really a pb.

But it's still a problem,I fear it may happen anytime, with any game.

Basically, my question is : Someone's got to have a clue or something as to what could be causing this..??

For info, I'm using SC SD, a DS from the first european(french)batch, software 2.43,Flashme v.5... and have always set saver patch to sd card when patching. Most games have always worked.
