I downloaded a couple of apps and homebrew games, but am having problems running them.  They end in nds.  I tried putting them directly on the sd card but only got 2 white screens.  I ran it through the latest patcher 2.44, but the resulting file was 0kb.  Can anyone help me?  Please pm me if you want the link to these apps and games so that you can try running them.  I don't want to get banned for posting a link.

Do not patch them with SC software as that does not work. You have to append ndsloader.bin to them

http://ds.gcdev.com/dsfirmware/ndsloader.bin

Copy that and the homebrew into a folder. Make sure the homebrew does not have any spaces in its file name.

run cmd, then goto the folder containing ndsloader and the homebrew

type in COPY /B ndsloader.bin+homebrew.nds homebrewpatched.nds

Change homebrew.nds to whatever your homebrew is called.

Also, if you have homebrew that outputs a ds.gba, rename it to .nds and it should work straight away

Or you could just run them through dsbuild.exe that comes with Moonshell, and rename the resulting .ds.gba to .nds.
Manually signing your posts is dumb.

Firmware versioning: Get a Passcard 3, a SuperKey, or a slot-1 flashkit. Then it doesn't matter which firmware you have.
