Hi all,

I am in the process of buying a Gameboy Micro and I have a SuperCard.

Are there any homebrew applications that can play MP3 OGG etc?

Is Moonshell only for DS? because I can only seem to find DS versions. If anyone can guide me in the direction of a good music player, it would be greatly appreciated!

From what I hear, the Micro (or any GBA in general) is too slow (CPU) to generate MP3 (and especially OGG) playback, so no...no players like that for the GBA Micro. There is a GSM Player, which is not too bad really, but you have to take your MP3's to Wav, then GSM, and then compile to a GBA file. EVen then, you are limited to how big it can be. I played with it awhile back just for novelty, but I would never consider the GBA to be your "ipod" so to speak. If you want that, get a DS, Moonshell, and a large memory card (2-4GB) or...just get an ipod! :)

will the play-yan solve the hardware issues of the gba/micro?

if what you said is true then i'll hold out on buying one for now

It still is an excellent unit to own, regardless. The screen is the best I have ever seen on a portable in terms of clarity, even better than the DS screen...or the re-vamped GBA SP screen.

Another reason to get it is that the entire line of Micro units are limited edition. They are stopping production of them early this year, if production has not stopped already. If you want one after that, you'll have to resort to buying one used. I bought two of them for this reason alone. Both are the 20th anniversary models, and one is sealed in the box. That one will stay that way for many years! :)

Why can't someone use M3 Perfect to turn the Micro into an MP3 player?
