heh.. I already had a topic on this, but I think people stopped reading it.. gomen.

Um.. I cant get ogg files running with my SCSD and any version of Moonshell.  I try to start the ogg, and it just freezes.

I thought maybe it was my ogg encoder, but I tried recoding my oggs with other software, including Easy CDDA Extractor.

Has anyone had oggs working on the SC SD version with Moonshell?
And if so, it would be kuhl if I could get an OGG from someone that they know works, so I can see if it works for me, cause if not.. then its either my SD card, or like something or something(format, defrag? I dunno)

Any ideas?

Currently the only way to get OGG to play is to build them into the EXFS file (at least, that I am aware of)

Is this only true of the SD version?  And if soo.. think you could work your magic and get the SD version working with OGGs?  (^_^)

Alot of people are intrested in the new MPG playback in Moonshell, I'm more intrested in working oggs.. heh.

Hrmm.. btw, I think I had gotten one file working with it.. I dont know why it played, and I think is I tried to scrub forward or backward it would freeze, that was with 0.6 SD

That's strange. I CAN play OGGs on my SCSD, but CANNOT choose position on the seek bar. Every time I choose it frezze.
Hope you can understand cause my english not good at all.

Cory has said this before, the main problem is with the unoptimized ASM used in the SCSD driver. I believe cory said he's still working on the conversion to C but that he isn't very good with ASM so he doesn't understand all of what the code does yet.

I think the ogg's arent working right now due to a problem with fread on the SC SD. Probably anything that uses fread will flop in moonshell, since the asm for SCSD forces you to read 512bytes for every readsector command, and the fread function is built more with CF in mind.

Progress on conversion is slow, there is much I dont understand about how asm operates and ways to get the same operation out of C. I have all the read stuff converted, but alot of technical stuff has left me scratching my head. It could be a simple problem I just dont see yet, or it could be something much more complex that I may never quite get  :(

We know CF works fine. If you don't have a Supercard SD, why are you posting in this thread?
Manually signing your posts is dumb.

Firmware versioning: Get a Passcard 3, a SuperKey, or a slot-1 flashkit. Then it doesn't matter which firmware you have.

How do I build them into the exfs?

becouse some people may think that it is a moonshell issue.. not the conversion to SD...

just for it!
