I've worked on everything from ps1 to xbox to GC to PS2 and i swear when i'm reading the posts on how to get the SC to work i'm left with a headache. Now I read a post about how if i go into picto chat and remove a DS Cart that the color will tell me which version i have well i have a green screen when i do that and i hear that works with the regular super pass but  I've played Mario Kart online and  my DS is blue ( people say that i'll need a passme2)

I just don't understand if i have to have it or not. Anyone?

Now after i use the pass me to flash my DS do i need to keep it in when i want to play?

Do i always have to boot using ABXY?

Where is the most reliable place to buy a SC"?

Koji

If you got a green screen you 100% have an old style firmware and thus you can use the original passme. Which is good because that makes things very simple. You simply plug a game into it, then plug the whole thing into the DS slot and play any DS roms you have on your super card.

You do not NEED to install flashme at all. You only install flashme if you don't want to use pass me all the time. If you install flashme, you need to hold A+B+X+Y to tell your DS you want to play games from the supercard. Otherwise it'd boot normally.

Is there a  way to asign different buttons to boot like hold R and boot?

Currently no. A+B+X+Y are very easy to hold down at the same time with your thumb if that's your worry. Hopefully in a future version it'll allow you to choose your button presses.

Thanks Koji, any clue which is better the CF or SD? I can buy a sd 1 gig card for 10 bucks cheaper, but if the cf works better i'd rather get that

Critical_Impact

Both have same comptability with roms, but CF seems to be a bit more ahead in homebrew with compatability. I dont know if SD support will be included in chisms fat driver any time, but if it is, chances are support for all homebrew and sc sd will be the same as sc cf.

thanks for the info.. final question i swear...

Since i have a V3 am i able to flash it using WIFIME, or do i for sure need to buy a super pass?

Yes. As long as your firmware isn't yellow, WiFiMe will work. But you need a flashcart of some sort to load FlashMe from.
Manually signing your posts is dumb.

Firmware versioning: Get a Passcard 3, a SuperKey, or a slot-1 flashkit. Then it doesn't matter which firmware you have.

Yautja

you can use wifime with any firmware i believe and its alot easier than using superpass all the time no extra stickingoutage.

Erock

hot stuff... that saves me an extra 25 bucks and a hastle!!

Wifime will not work with newer firmware.

Yes. You only can't use WiFiMe if your firmware is yellow.
