Hello.  First off, thx to all on the forum for all the help that has been given out
thus far.  I would like to know if its possible to "convert" a game save that I dumped off of a ds card into a save that would work with the rom of that game (using the Saver Patch in SD card position).  When I dumped the save game off of the card, it was only a 8k file, but when using the Supercard patcher app on the game, it outputs a 256k file.  Do i just need to use all the save slots in the game to fill it up, then dump and convert?  Any help is appreciated.  Btw the game in question is Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow.

Simple. Supercard uses a stock blank 256k file because that's the largest DS save type. Castlevania is only 8kb in size... the rest of the space in the supercard save is emptiness. I haven't tested it, but I'd assume you don't even need to pad the save file. Just rename the 8KB save to the same thing as your rom and try it out.

If that doesn't work, then you just need to pad the file with zeroes so it's 256K

I have and you don't. I was playing Super Princess Peach on my EZFAdvance before I got my SC. (SPP has a 64Kb save.) I dumped the 8KB file on the SD card, renamed it to match the patched ROM, and it worked fine.

Firmware versioning: Get a Passcard 3, a SuperKey, or a slot-1 flashkit. Then it doesn't matter which firmware you have.

Thx for the tips.  I have tried just renaming the save to match the roms name,  but that didn't work.  As for padding the file with 0's, I'm not exactly sure now how to go about that.  Would I just open the file in a hex editor and add 0's till its 256k?  If that's not the solution, is there anything else you did to your save m2pt5?  Did you use Rain to dump the save?  Thx again.

No, I didn't use Rain to dump it, I was using the save on a different flashcart. I'll try the save I dumped from the JSS card with the ROM later, and I'll post to let you know if it works.

When restoring your save to the DS EEPROM via Rain make sure there are no spaces in your save file name.  The saves from SC patched roms can be sent via Rain to the EEPROM no problem, as long as the filename has no spaces (in my experience).  I hope this helps!

I had spaces in the Mario Kart DS save name and it restored just fine. The Animal Crossing one, however, didn't. (This may very well be because I was using the 0.4 version hacked for SCSD rather than one of the versions that actually supports it natively, or even a version that supports Animal Crossing.)

Thx Hibbity, but I'm asking about the other way around... a game save, dumped from cart using rain, to work with a rom on sc sd.  Just renaming the save game to match the name of the rom doesnt work.

Where can I find Rain compatible for SC SD?
I can't find t anywhere :(

Thanx

That's the old version. The official is up to 0.8 (or higher) and had SCSD support natively.
