1)Can the supercard ONLY play roms in .nds.dsq form?

2)Are there any other patchers that enable you to play nds roms on the SC besides the SC 2.44?  Where can I download such patchers if the exist?

3)Where can I get dsbuild.exe?  Googling it didn't help.

4)Is it possible to get .gbm and .gbs files to work on the Supercard?

And now something to contribute:  If you are getting an error in patching nds roms in .zip form, open the zipped folder and copy the nds file inside into a separate folder.  THEN, patch the .nds file that you just moved.  This worked for 5 roms that I had errors on.

Thanks to all.   :D

1. It can play commercial roms in *.dsi format also, loading the entire game to SRAM before execution.

2. There are older versions besides 2.44 on ratx's site http://l33t.spod.org/ratx/DS/SC/

3. http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=114505

dsbuild.exe is not on that link?  Could someone please supply?

Is there a patcher to convert into .dsi format?  IF not, how do you get the roms in this format?

<-- Downloads section, your SC type (CF/SD) and download the patcher.
Manually signing your posts is dumb.

Firmware versioning: Get a Passcard 3, a SuperKey, or a slot-1 flashkit. Then it doesn't matter which firmware you have.

The supercard patcher can change roms into dsq and dsi formats.

I looked under  the moonshell v.6 and saw dsbuild.exe under the wintools folder.  When I clicked dsbuild.exe, a black screen popped up and then quickly disappeared.  What just happened?  I tried reading the readme.txt, but it didn't give any information in how to operate.  :?:

I opened patcher 2.44.  Where in the world does it allow me to choose whether to have games in .dsq or .dsi format?

Rom position Supercard = dsi  (load rom to supercard memory)
Rom position SD/CF-card = dsq (play rom directly from SD/CF-card)

Load a rom file then double click on it in the patcher. It will give you the option of where to load from, using the following form as the previous post.

all you have to do is just drag your roms on top of it, it will then come up with the black screen thing and make a new rom.

thanks for the help with the confusion between .dsi and .dsq files.

Now, for the dsbuild.exe
What does this do exactly?    Also, what does a nds loader do?

2 days ago I asked if anyone could get

1) pingpong
2) Teenage queen
3) Breakout

to work.  (They are all downloadable at http://nintendo-ds.dcemu.co.uk/moonshell.shtml    Look on the right hand side under "Games")  The reason i asked for these particular games is because they all end in .nds, not .ds.gba or .gba.nds.

I put them directly onto my SD card, tried patching them, tried renaming them.  Can dsbuild.exe help?  Can somebody confirm this?

Thanks for everyone's help.
