Hi, I just came up with an idea I want to share:
I have a friend with Linux, the patcher does not currently runs ok with linux (unless you have crossover office, but he want's to avoid that), my question is:

What are the probabilities of patching the roms on the fly?, According to what I have seen, the SC only loads the binary into RAM (with Card position), so, why not patch the binary there?, maybe the save creation will be difficult, but I guess it can be done.

The other way, is to have the patcher as an NDS file, so that it runs in any NDS, and the patching is done locally.

What are your opinions about this?

Really good idea!

Make a nds apps that read a clean rom, patch it and write it to the (cf/sd), and ask if you want to remove the original clean rom.  Will need a lot of space on the media, but can be usefull for people running other OS than windows (I am on a mac, and I have virtual PC only to patch roms)
Onyx DS with R4 and SC lite, 2x1g kingston
Ice blue DS with R4
Gray phat DS with SCSD and 512M

Even if some of the emulators had to be removed from the firmware to accomplish this, I would be all for it (as most of those emulators are outdated anyway). It would be SO nice not to haveto use the patching software, and simply copy NDS roms right to the flash card directly. I think that this is definitely possible.

i agree  they are outdated,  would be great if the new goom  gbc was integrated but runs slow on some games i have noticed.

This would be a GREAT feature.  I hate having to patch before using.  Simple drag and drop onto the card would be great.  What it does in the background to make it work I could care less about.
