Hi there, i confess im a newbie, just jumped on ds scene yesterday, when i got supercard SD (SD to GBA) and superpass2 to use in a relative's pink ds.

my first problem is that I cant get to www.supercard.cn , it's not working. So i use scdev as source of info (and more pages too).

First: I plugged the superpass2 in the programer, plug the usb in the programer and plug the programer to computer.

second: Use Xilinx IMPACT to program the superpass2. First erase it & then use the jed file. As far as i know, the jed file must be the adequate given the original game you're going to put in the superpass2, i'm right? Thats what i've done, everything seems to go fine.

There's any other low-level thing to do with the superpass2 before using it?

Third: I have a 1.54 supercard, so i didnt update the firmware. I downloaded the supercard software 2.4X. I've a rom for supermario 64 Eur(0022 - Super Mario 64 DS (E).nds). I select it with the supercard application and press out, and two files will appear in the SD memory.

Four: I also put the passme2buttonwait.gba (or something like that) on the SD (directly, whitout going through the supercard software, as i tried it and then the gba dont work). passme2buttonwait.gba is that application with lots of codes (sram codes i think).

Five: I put the sd in supercard, put supercard on the ds (horrible pink ds, the ugliest thing i've ever seen :-), power on ds and gameboy mode opens, select passme2buttonwait.gba from the list menu.

first true question: What code i have to select in the passme2buttonwait? the code from the original card i've put in the superpass2? or the code for the rom that i have in the supercard and i want to play? Because i've tried both steps and all i can get are those WHITE SCREENS next time i boot the ds!! Putting the superpass2 on with the ds shutdown or powered up didnt make any difference. When i power on with the superpass2 in, i only get white screens.

Sorry for the lengthy post, for my newbieness and for my bad english. But i'm getting little desperate in here ;-(. Please help me, and thanks a lot for any help.

Also, the DS original card in the superpass2 is Nintendogs with the following code: AD3PN0J22, wich is referred as AD3P-0 in some sites (and in Passme2buttonwait.gba) and seems to correspond to Nintendogs: labrador & friends EU (the ds isnt mine, so i dont know if its correct).

but you get it to work with other games? When you use the .sav to write the sram, you use the one matching your original DS card or the one matching the rom you want to play?

And thanks for the answer.

You use the one matching your original DS card.

And if you have to use a 2-series pass-device, you should be using it to install FlashMe, and then never using it again. It's SUCH a pain in the ass.

Firmware versioning: Get a Passcard 3, a SuperKey, or a slot-1 flashkit. Then it doesn't matter which firmware you have.

ya, its a BIG pain in the arse, but the ds is not mine (i'll never buy a pink ds dude), is from a friend's girlfriend, and i dont know if they want to make the flashme think... also, i prefer to see it working without flashing, cos i cant make it to run any ds rom. Ive tried, so far, with Mario Kart, Mario 64 and Sims 2 in the SD memory, all patched trought the supercard software, all europe versions, and no luck.

Thanks again for the help.

Just install the stealth version - the only way to tell it's installed without trying to run homebrew is that the light fades on rather than going straight to full brightness. (It even retains the health/safety warning.)

aja, that steath thing sounds interesting. But, again, it doesnt make sense to me to try the flash when i cant get the nomal system to work. Also, as i believe (correct me if im wrong), you have to open the ds the first time you use the flashme... pretty risky, if you ask me (dont get me wrong, ive done all kind of stoopid risky and funny things with computers and so, but ive done it when theyre mine). I know thats my problem, and that the flashme is better way to go, but first i want to see it working without flash, just superpass2 + supercard.

You're wrong.

You have to remove the battery cover and a small sticker under the battery cover, and use a small metal object to bridge a connection through the hole under the sticker while flashing. The only screw to unscrew is the battery cover.

ok, seems more easy than I initially expected. Maybe i try to convince them to let me flash that pink thing ;-) ...
...Once i can get Superpass2 to work...

But thanks a lot for the explanations, i thought it was more dificult.

First : from http://www.supercard.cn/superpass2/Superpass2_en_Help.htm

Quote#Session 3 :How to use SuperPass 2?

How to use on SuperPass 2 with the SuperCard on NDS?

# 1. Copy the *.gba and *.sav file which in the SuperPass 2 installed folder with the same front name of firmware to CF/SD card Root.
For Example: "AUSE-0.gba" and "AUSE-0.sav"
# 2. Do not insert SuperPass 2, only Insert SuperCard, Turn on NDS to GBA mode and run the "AUSE-0.gba" file.
# 3. Insert SuperPass 2 with your original NDS cart and then turn off the NDS power.
# 4. Turn on the NDS again quickly, better in 10 seconds. Now, you can enter NDS mode, play Games in SuperCard or FlashMe your NDS Bios now.

Note: Each time you turn off the NDS more than 20 seconds, you need to do the procedure again.

Second : Did you try the SuperPass2 software to configure your SuperPass2 and boot your NDS ?

From http://www.supercard.cn/eng/index.htm :

QuoteUpdate(2006.01.07):SuperPass 2 Software released !!!

Feature:
# Very Easy to use.
# Include 194 Games list.
# Only press ONE button to upgrade the SuperPass 2 Key.
