hi, I'm having some problems to use the movie player... I'm using a DS, and I've had problems with my cf card but that's solved (first I used Lexar, the game qould crash instantly after I started it, then I used a Sandisk, I had a couple of minutes of gameplay, and now I tried a PNY card and it works perfectly fine) but with the 3 cards, I didn't find a way to make my Filmplay.bin to work. When I start the program, there's a black screen, with some chinese writing, but two words in English : CompactFlash (CF) and START. the only thing I can do then is press Start, and then the screen goes completely black. I can't use L+R+Select+Start when there's the chinese writing, but I can after I press start. I tried both versions of Filmplay.bin on all three CF cards, and nothing seems to work. I can play GBA games without any problem now though, same goes for nes games. Anybody have a hint with this problem?

Thanks

Change your Firmware from v1.43 to v1.41 and I bet it'll work.  Don't ask me why...

Have you tried patching the FilmPlay.bin ROM with the Supercard patching software?  It's very unlikely that will fix your problem, but it's worth a shot.

That's the software you patch your original ROMs with in order to play them on your Supercard.

Check out the "Much faster Supercard software mirror" sticky in the "General" section of the forum.

Same problem here with both versions of film play and both firmware versions 1.41 and 1.43

HELP PLEASE..  I posted this on the supercard site as well.  I saw you reponded Diablo..  I have tried all suggestions to this point and still the black screen..  Plus my GBA is un responsive to get back to the main menu.

Thanks

Diablo

So you've downloaded all the files from one of our mirrors, reformatted your CF card as described in the sticky, and not passed the FilmPlay.bin through the Supercard patching software...

Have you tried the v1.24 or v1.42 firmwares?  Have you tried a different CF card?

If you're just interested in reading eBooks, you may want to see if you can use eBook Advance.

You are correct..  I will try the other kernal versions you mentioned..  or another CF  card..  Will keep you posted..

Thanks

PS Anyone else having this problem with filmplay.bin??

Paq Man

OK Got it working!  A different CF card did the trick..  Now my question is why is the supercard so picky about the cf card used?  I have seen several posts regarding CF card stability.  are there recomendations on brands or size?

We have a very strong indication that the recent batch of Supercards has been either altered from previous versions or was simply a bad batch.  While they are still fully functional with certain combinations of CF cards, handhelds, and software, they are slightly less than functional with other combinations.

I believe we will have news from Romman soon in regards to this subject.
